Carolyn Breece is a research assistant at the Oregon State University Honey Bee Lab (Go Beavs!). She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) and a master’s in forestry from Northern Arizona University. She is also a committee member, Journey student, and mentor for the Oregon Master Beekeeper Program. In addition to helping manage OSU’s apiary of 75 colonies, she has 5 colonies of her own, one of which is co-managed by her 8 year old son, Simon. Her husband Nate tolerates her obsession with bees only because he is just as obsessed with bicycles.
